Rocket Builders, Take Flight Again!

Remember the day we built and launched rockets on the basketball court? That was us—and we’re back with more exciting adventures!

This time, we’re bringing a space-themed series to Mont Vernon Village School students in the Greater Nashua YMCA aftercare program. Using LEDs, paper lanterns, paint, sand, rocks and gemstones, kids will explore the wonders of the sky and create a take-home project every week. Bonus: If they miss a class, no worries—this course is flexible and non-cumulative!

Key Details:

  • When: Thursdays, February 6th – Mar 27 (3:00–4:00 PM)
  • Where: Mont Vernon Village School
  • Who: Limited to 15 students
  • Cost: $140 for 7 weeks (just $20 a class if you sign up by February 5th, if you wait till the 6th, it is $25 a class)

Explore the Wonders of the Sky with Our New STEM Classes!

Did your child love building and launching rockets in that warm day in December? We’re the team behind that unforgettable experience, and we’re thrilled to bring another hands-on adventure to Mont Vernon Village School students in the Greater Nashua YMCA aftercare program.

This time, we’re focusing on astronomy, creativity, and STEM exploration. In our eight-week series, kids will use LEDs, paper lanterns, paint, and gemstones to create stunning projects inspired by celestial bodies. Each session ends with a take-home creation, and the pieces work beautifully together if students attend regularly. Don’t worry if they miss a class—this program is designed to be flexible!

Program Highlights:

  • Who Can Join: Open to all YMCA aftercare students at Mont Vernon Village School, regardless of ability to pay.
  • When and Where: Classes run Thursdays from February 6th to Mar 27, 3:00–4:00 PM, directly after school dismissal.
  • Class Size: Limited to 15 students for an engaging, small-group experience.
  • Cost: $140 for 8 weeks ($20/class) if you register by January 19. Late registrations (if space is available) are $25/class.

What If School Closes?

If non-weather-related closures occur, we’ll deliver supplies and hold the lesson remotely.

The YMCA of Greater Nashua will oversee student dismissal after each session, ensuring a smooth and safe process.
