Unchartered Board President and Director

Kira Morehouse (She/Her) is the Digital Marketing Manager and Vice President at Enterprise Bank, headquartered in Lowell, Massachusetts. She earned her Global MBA in Business Administration and Corporate Strategy from Southern New Hampshire University and a BA in Communication Arts from Michigan State University. Before joining Enterprise Bank, Kira gained experience in account management, social media strategy, and project management across various marketing agencies and companies.

Kira’s motivation to join Unchartered Tutoring’s Board of Directors stems from her personal experience as a parent. Specifically, starting at the age of 8, which also happened to be during the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, she witnessed her child’s imagination, curiosity, and creativity flourish under the guidance of Amber-Nicole, her fellow teachers, and the unique curriculum offered remotely through Zoom and, eventually, in-person. The combination of science, art, and STEM concepts not only provided educational value but also imparted life lessons that helped the students build confidence alongside the knowledge gained by the end of each class. It was also Amber-Nicole’s genuine aim to connect with students and families on a personal level to enhance their learning experiences. Lastly, seeing how Amber-Nicole’s resourcefulness and care for ensuring that all children have an opportunity to thrive through these educational experiences made it easy for Kira to say, “Yes, this is something I want to continue supporting!”

What are the top 3-5 reasons you joined the Unchartered board?

  • For me – it’s really just two big ones.

  • Growing up, I was the daughter of a scientist. I loved seeing the world through his eyes, a pragmatic, sensible, and miraculous lens. Since he passed away from cancer in 2011, I’ve been searching for ways to connect with him again. Hearing about Unchartered’s approach to teaching children science through art, it felt like such a natural fit for me, and something I couldn’t not be a part of.

  • The first time I met Amber Nicole, I felt like I had known her for years before. She has a warmth about her, a true passion and love for what she does, and an unwavering belief in the importance of exciting young minds. I believe in her, and that was a major driving force for me joining this Board.

What are your top 3-5 goals for Unchartered?

  • Get our 501c3 Status!

  • Procure funding through grants and gifts that let us give away more classes and camps.

  • Reach as many kids as possible with the amazingness that is science and art together.

  • Grow Unchartered’s reach
