2025 Youth Room Mural Camp at Brookside Congregational Church
This August, we’re teaming up with Brookside Congregational Church to do something pretty special: paint a big, bold, beautiful mural in the church’s Youth Room—and your kids can help! From August 18–21, Unchartered will run a hands-on summer camp where students in grades K–6 (plus a few helpful older ones) can work side-by-side with our founder, Amber Nicole, to design and paint a mural focused on inclusion, welcome, and belonging. It’s free to attend, and we’ll wrap it all up with a celebration and mural reveal on Sunday, September 7th during the church picnic.
At This Camp, Kids Will:
🧠 Think Big and Plan Together
They’ll dream up mural ideas, build mini models, and help us figure out where everything should go. We’ll talk about scale, layout, and how art can shape how a room feels.
🖌️ Get Their Hands Dirty (in a Good Way)
From taping walls and prepping surfaces to projecting, tracing, painting, and outlining—we’ll walk them through the whole process, tools and all.
🧼 Learn That Cleaning Up is Part of Creating
We believe taking care of a shared space matters. Campers will help clean brushes, wipe spills, and make sure we leave the room better than we found it.
☀️ Play, Rest, and Make Stuff Outdoors Too
This isn’t just work—there’s plenty of time for outside games, art breaks, and getting some sun. Because joy fuels creativity.
